Soda Jerk Gear

The employee of a soda fountain who worked the counter was called a soda jerk. This is supposedly because they had to “jerk” the handle on the fountain spout to dispense the seltzer water for soda fountain beverages.

Any soda fountain aficionado will appreciate a traditional apron worn by the purveyors of soda fountain delicacies. The apron worn by soda jerks in years gone by was traditionally either a plain white bib apron or a plain white waist apron. We have both styles available for today’s soda jerk.

Our bib apron is generously sized and will fit big & tall individuals. Our soda fountain waist apron is today called a 4-way apron. When one side gets dirty, you can flip it over or reverse it up to 4 times and you have a clean side. It’s like wearing 4 aprons before you have to wash it. I’m sure that was the appeal to the soda jerk just like it is today.
