Why Concentrate Is Better Than Pre-Made Syrup

Syrup and Concentrate Ingredients & Nutrition Facts

Concentrate Costs Less

When you buy our Rio brand syrup concentrate you only pay for the essence of the finished syrup. You don’t pay for the water and sugar which goes into the ready to use syrup. With only the smallest effort to make the syrup, you save big.

As an example, our 4oz regular size concentrate makes 1 gallon or 4 quarts of syrup. It costs only $3.49. If you were to buy 4 quarts of pre-made syrup at an average cost of $7.00 each you would spend $28.00. It’s pretty obvious which is the better deal.

Shipping Costs Less

There is a considerable savings in shipping costs for concentrate versus pre-made syrup. The reason is you don’t pay to ship the water and sugar which makes up most of the weight of pre-made syrup.

A 6 pack of our 4oz concentrate makes 24 quarts of syrup. The 6 bottles of concentrate have a shipping weight of 2 pounds. Shipping weight for 24 quarts of pre-made syrup is 70 pounds. You get the idea.

You Control the Flavor

Have you ever wished your syrup had just a little more flavor to it? Or was it just a little too harsh for your taste? Now, get the exact flavor you want when you make your own syrup from our concentrates. You can adjust the flavor by adding a little more or a little less concentrate.

Our regular recipe uses the industry standard of 1oz concentrate in 1 quart of syrup. However, you could use 1 1/2oz of concentrate for more flavor or a 1/2oz for less flavor. You decide how your syrup tastes. You’re in control!

Make Syrup with Sugar or Make it Sugar Free

Make your syrup with sugar, the traditional way. Or, make your syrup with Splenda or other artificial sweetener, the low-carb way. You can make either or both with the same bottle of concentrate. You decide. See our mixing directions link below.

Syrup Made Fresh from Concentrate Lasts Longer

Why buy syrup that has been sitting around for who knows how long? The big syrup manufacturers make their syrup in large batches, bottle it, and wait for someone to buy it. The shelf life is diminished even before you get it. Syrup you make yourself will be fresher and last longer.

Rio Concentrate Mixes Easily

Our concentrates are a liquid and mix easily with just a couple of shakes of the bottle. Powdered concentrates can clump and may not dissolve completely.
